Prime Minister meets President of the United Arab Emirates on the sidelines of the G7 Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France. They reviewed the strong India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focusing on cooperation in technology, trade, investment, energy, and defence. The leaders also discussed regional and global developments, emphasizing dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law in West Asia, and called for unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. PM Modi invited the UAE President to the BRICS Summit to be hosted by India later in 2026.

Raksha Mantri to lead Indian delegation at SCO Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

India's Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, will lead a delegation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The meeting will address regional defence and security, international peace, counter-terrorism, and defence cooperation, against the backdrop of geopolitical turmoil in West Asia. India will reiterate its commitment to global peace and zero tolerance for terrorism. The SCO, established in 2001, includes India (full member since 2017), Russia, China, and several Central Asian nations, with India having held the rotating chairmanship in 2023.
